Basim is an Associate Director in the EMEA Clients team. He works with institutional clients to understand their challenges and help them reach their investment objectives. ​

Basim joined Russell Investments in 2022 from Preqin where he was vice president and head of research for the Middle East. In this role, he was responsible for data coverage and growth across all alternative asset classes. ​

Prior to joining Preqin, Basim was vice president at Investbridge Group’s global alternatives and distribution division. He was also responsible for the monitoring of investment transactions for the group’s fund platform division, executing due diligence on incoming funds and ensuring smooth running of operations of the fund platform.​

Basim began his career as a consultant in Deloitte’s financial risk and regulatory advisory team, where he helped develop and execute organization-wide risk assessments for regional and global financial institutions and investment houses.​
